Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
Welcome to Gem State Disc Golf Club! Our team is comprised of dedicated volunteers who are committed to promoting and growing the sport of disc golf in Boise. We work hard to create a welcoming community and provide opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the sport.

JR Harrell
Meet JR Harrell (Emily's dad) a disc golf enthusiast who can throw a disc farther than your Wi-Fi signal but somehow always ends in the woods. He's a great RHBH and LHFH player, yep...same, sames, but ask him, it's different. When not perfecting his "air-mail" shots, he's busy being the undisputed champion of "Where's my Disc?" And making sure the course is more of an obstacle course than intended. He's mastered the art of the "almost hole-in-one" and can tell you the exact angle of his last shot--although it landed more than 50 feet off the desired landing zone. He's the proud owner of a collection of discs, in great condition, they've never met a single tree (unintentionally). Catch him out on the course, probably Ann Mo, improving his game one errant throw at a time! Don't worry though, he's involved in Operations and Obstacle Course Design and is your El Presidente.

Joie Kreiter
A one-year disc golf enthusiast, Joie has quickly learned that the sport is 50% nature, 50% competition, and 100% wondering where the disc landed. Passionate about both the game and keeping things organized, she brings order to the club even when her throws bring… something less than order to the fairway. If only her discs followed direction as well as her spreadsheets do.

Josh Kreiter
Josh has been playing disc golf for about 2.5 years, which is exactly how long he’s been perfecting the art of hitting every tree on the fairway. Practically blind (his wife has questions about his putting), he still manages to lose more discs than he throws. Despite these talents, he loves the sport and the community—where competition, nature, and questionable depth perception come together in perfect harmony.

Devon Shoecraft
Meet Devon Shoecraft, his game is as smooth as his ability to lose a black disc in water. If you've spent hours searching for a disc in a creek, you've encountered his signature move. He's got a knack for making the most straightforward shots look impossible and the most impossible shots look straightforward, but his game is as unpredictable as the wind! Pre-event ritual? A quick 'goodbye' to his disc in the drink before his round starts, you avoid the lost disc penalty that way! He's our Member at Large, ready and willing to assist wherever he is needed most.

Kayla Kossman
I've been flinging discs all over the fairways for two years now, all thanks to my boyfriend who thought it would be a cute couple's activity. Joke's on him, because now I'm way more obsessed than he is. Seriously, I dream about chains. If you see someone on the course dramatically mourning a lost disc, that's probably me. On the bright side, when I'm not terrorizing the disc golf course, I'm at home with my dog and cat, who are much better at accepting my competitive spirit (mostly because they don't understand the rules). But honestly, disc golf has changed my life. I've made so many awesome friends, and I can't wait for the next round!
